Russian Strikes Target Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Sumy Regions, Causing Civilian Harm.
Infrastructure Assaults in Dnipropetrovsk Region
According to UATV: On March 5, 2023, Russian military forces launched another wave of attacks against infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring several people, including in the Kamianske district. Assaults on the Odesa and Sumy regions were also recorded throughout the day. These strikes are part of a sustained campaign targeting Ukrainian civilian areas far from the front lines.
In the Kamianske district, two men were wounded. An attack on a fire station in the Synelnykove district resulted in no casualties. Infrastructure was damaged in the Nikopol district, and while Kryvyi Rih also saw infrastructure targeted, there were no fatalities there.
Attacks extended to Odesa, where a recreational base was hit, sparking a fire that spread across 250 square meters. In the Sumy region, a drone struck a car, injuring three people: a 58-year-old woman and two men, aged 61 and 24. A total of 35 settlements within the Sumy region came under fire during these assaults.
Law Enforcement Response
In response to these events, the police have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The situation remains tense, with authorities continuing to monitor developments.
