Russian Forces Strike Kryvyi Rih on March 5

According to Novyny.live: Russian military forces launched a drone attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih overnight on March 5. The assault damaged civilian infrastructure, including a kindergarten and private residences. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 15 hostile drones during the attack.

Consequences of the Assault

The strikes, part of a wider offensive, also caused significant damage in other settlements within the Dnipropetrovsk region:

  • In Verkhivtseve, transport infrastructure was damaged, resulting in injuries to two men, aged 38 and 45.
  • Within the Pokrovsk community, a private home caught fire during the shelling, while two other houses and a fire station sustained damage.
  • In the Nikopol district, the homes of local residents were damaged.

These attacks on Ukraine began on the evening of March 4 and continued into the night of March 5, also reaching the Odesa region, which was similarly targeted by drones. This ongoing conflict has seen civilian areas repeatedly hit, raising international concern over humanitarian law violations.

The situation in the region remains tense, with the impact of the attacks being felt not only in Kryvyi Rih but also in neighboring communities.

This latest strike underscores the persistent threats faced by Ukrainian cities. Damage to civilian infrastructure like schools and homes can have long-term consequences for local populations, potentially disrupting access to education and essential services. Continued international monitoring and support for recovery in affected regions remains critically important.
