Strikes Hit Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv Region
According to UATV: On June 20, 2023, Russian forces launched attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and the Kyiv region, resulting in casualties and injuries. The assault on Zaporizhzhia began around 5:30 PM local time. Preliminary reports indicate four people were killed in Zaporizhzhia, and at least five others sustained wounds.
In the Kyiv region, fires and structural damage were recorded across several districts. The largest blaze broke out in a warehouse facility in the Boryspil district. Meanwhile, in the Vyshhorod district, three people were injured after a strike hit a passenger car. According to Ivan Fedorov,
“according to preliminary data, there are already four dead and at least five wounded.”
Regional Situation Update
During the night of June 20, Russia targeted Ukraine with 99 Shahed-type attack drones. While firefighters were extinguishing a blaze in one area of the Kyiv region, a man was found suffering from smoke inhalation. He was transported to a medical facility, as reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The situation across the regions remains tense, with rescue teams continuing their operations at the affected sites.
This wave of attacks is part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has already caused numerous casualties and extensive infrastructure damage.
