Zelensky and Starmer agreed on new sanctions against Russia: what was discussed.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. One of the discussion points was sanctions against Russia.
According to Zelensky, Starmer expressed condolences over the loss of life during the shelling of Kyiv on July 31.
Drone production
The leaders also talked about the need to increase drone production, particularly interceptors. Zelensky emphasized that there is a financial need and the parties reached a mutual understanding.
Sanctions against Russia
During the conversation, they discussed sanctions against Russia. Zelensky stressed that the sanctions are working and will be intensified. They also discussed cooperation with American partners and plans for peace talks.
In previous statements, Zelensky called on Western partners to increase pressure on Russia following the shelling of Kyiv.
During the phone conversation between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Great Britain, issues such as sanctions against Russia, drone production, and support in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine were discussed.
