Zelensky called for the establishment of the European Armed Forces
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for the establishment of the European Armed Forces at the Munich Security Conference. According to him, in light of the Russian threat, Europe needs to have its own Armed Forces. He urged European leaders to act for themselves, for Europe, and for a common future. Zelensky also emphasized the need for Europe to be self-sufficient and to unite its forces with Ukraine.
The president noted that support from other countries, including Ukrainian defenders, is needed to deter Russia. However, he does not rule out the possibility that the United States may deny Europe assistance on issues that threaten it. Zelensky urged NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to make an equal contribution to the partnership with America.
The president also warned about Russia's plans to send troops to Belarus under the pretext of exercises, which could pose a threat to Europe. According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian experience shows how quickly allies react to aggression under false flags or without identifying marks. He asked whether allies would be ready to respond quickly to such a threat.
It should be noted that Zelensky also commented on the negotiations with the Trump team led by Vance.
