Zelenskyy Warns of New Mass Strikes as Russia Stockpiles Missiles.
Statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
According to Novyny.live: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russia used a recent lull in attacks to amass a stockpile of missiles and prepare for a new wave of mass strikes against Ukraine. He emphasized that these strikes, which deliberately targeted energy infrastructure, were timed to coincide with the coldest period of winter, aiming to maximize civilian hardship.
Details of the Recent Attacks
In the previous wave of assaults, Russian forces employed a significant arsenal, including:
- 32 ballistic missiles,
- 11 other types of missiles,
- 28 cruise missiles,
- and approximately 450 attack drones.
The regions suffering the most severe impacts were:
- Kharkiv Oblast,
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast,
- Kyiv Oblast,
- the city of Kyiv,
- Vinnytsia Oblast,
- Odesa Oblast,
- and Zaporizhzhia.
Critical heating supply issues persist in the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Lozova.
This situation underscores the ongoing intensity of the war, with Russia's strategy increasingly focused on crippling Ukraine's civilian energy grid. Targeting essential services during extreme cold poses a grave threat to public safety and represents a significant escalation in the conflict's impact on daily life. The scale of the weaponry used indicates both sides are preparing for continued, high-intensity military operations.
