According to The Washington Post, about 100 Indian citizens were deceived and ended up on the military front in Ukraine under the pretense of work or study. This has led to the deaths of at least 10 people, including Binil Babu.

This situation has sparked outrage among local officials, who are discussing the matter with the Russian authorities and the embassy in New Delhi. They are demanding the release of Indian citizens currently in Russia.

The Russian embassy in New Delhi stated that Russia has not been involved in any recruitment schemes and is not to blame for the situation with Indian citizens who are acting illegally in Russia.

Russia denies any allegations and promises to free Indian citizens. However, information about the recruitment of Indians still exists. Many families claim that their relatives were deceived and sent to war instead of the promised jobs.

Journalists conducted interviews with two Indian citizens who found themselves in Russia. They reported that they were forced to sign Russian documents and had their passports confiscated. It was also noted that they did not undergo military training.

Last year, Indian officials discussed this issue with their Russian counterparts. Some people managed to return to India, but many Indians still remain in the military conflict.

Despite this, India continues to develop trade relations with Russia, the publication notes.

Military experts report that India continues to develop economic ties with Russia, despite attempts to reduce its dependence on it as a security partner.
