Russia proposed short ceasefires at the front - what is the goal.
The head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul, Vladimir Medinsky, stated that Russia has proposed short ceasefires to Ukraine at the front. According to him, this is necessary to retrieve the bodies of the dead and wounded.

'The Russian Federation has once again proposed that Ukraine consider the issue of declaring short ceasefires along the front line to collect the wounded and retrieve the bodies of their fighters'
Additionally, Russia plans to create three working groups that will operate in an online format. It is known that Ukraine will consider their proposals.
We remind you that at the negotiations, Ukraine proposed that the Russian Federation hold a meeting of leaders involving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump. Furthermore, the Ukrainian delegation agreed to cease attacks on critical and civilian infrastructure.
The Russian side proposed that Ukraine declare short ceasefires at the front to enable the collection of the wounded and the bodies of fallen fighters. They also plan to create working groups for joint work in an online format; the Allied response to these proposals could determine the further development of the situation along the conflict line.
