Russia accuses Ukraine of creating chemical weapons: what Kyiv responds.
According to inkorr.com: The Russian Federation has accused Ukraine of establishing laboratories for the production of chemical weapons. According to the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, Moscow stated that there is a 'vast network of laboratories for the mass production of combat toxic agents' and 'hundreds of instances of chemical weapon use.'
A representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Vladimir Tarabrin, noted that these accusations remain unverified and are simply the dissemination of fake information in Russian media.
Lack of evidence
Russia traditionally does not provide any verified evidence for its accusations. Instead, the Kremlin refers to: anonymous reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense; mentions of 'Siren gas', CS/Chloracetophenone, 'psychotropics', and 'cyanide'; the absence of any verification procedures by the OPCW.
The situation has escalated into a confrontation between Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine, as a participant in the Chemical Weapons Convention, firmly rejects any accusations regarding the existence of its own programs for the production of toxic substances. The accusations from the Russian Federation lack basis in the form of official investigations or OPCW verification mechanisms.
Kyiv refutes Russian allegations of creating laboratories for chemical weapons, emphasizing the lack of evidence in these statements and underscoring the importance of an objective investigation into this situation.
These events once again testify to the escalation of tensions between Ukraine and Russia, especially in the context of international conditions. It is important to monitor the development of the situation, as attempts to disseminate disinformation may affect international relations and security in the region.
