Drone Strikes Hit Mykolaiv

According to Novyny.live: Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Mykolaiv during the night of February 18, 2026. The strikes impacted a residential district of the city. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties resulting from this specific assault. This attack is part of a broader pattern of intensified Russian strikes across southern and eastern Ukraine.

An air raid alert was in effect for the Mykolaiv district from 10:38 p.m. on February 17 until 2:07 a.m. on February 18. The Ukrainian Air Force initially warned of unmanned aerial vehicles over Mykolaiv at 11:05 p.m., and later, at 2:42 a.m., reported the movement of another drone group. These events occurred against a backdrop of escalated attacks in other Ukrainian regions. On the evening of February 17, a strike on Zaporizhzhia killed a 48-year-old woman and injured six others. Reports also emerged of shelling in the Sumy region, which resulted in at least one fatality.

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, is monitoring the situation and remains informed of developments in the area.

Heightened Tensions Across Ukraine

The security situation in Ukraine remains highly tense due to the intensification of Russian attacks in multiple regions. The drone strikes on Mykolaiv and other cities underscore the persistent threat posed by unmanned aircraft in modern warfare. Government and military structures continue to work on ensuring public safety, yet the risks to the civilian population remain severe.

While fortunately no casualties have been reported from Mykolaiv so far, it is crucial for residents to maintain vigilance and follow official updates from local authorities closely.
