Russians advanced east of Vuhledar and in the Pokrovsk area – ISW report.
According to analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces have recently advanced to the southeast of Pokrovsk, as well as to the east and southeast of Donetsk near Vuhledar. This information is reported in the analysts' report.
Fighting on Russian territory
On October 26, geolocated footage shows that Ukrainian forces likely conducted a reinforced mechanized platoon-scale attack east of Novo Shlyakh. These footage also indicates the return of Russian troops to positions east of Novo Shlyakh, while Ukrainian units hold their positions southeast of this settlement along the border between Russia and Ukraine.
On October 26, Ukrainian and Russian forces continue to fight at the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region, although the front line remains unchanged.
The fighting continues:
- to the southeast of Korenevo, in the area of Novooivanivka, Lubymivka and Zelenyi Shlyakh;
- north of Sudzha, in the area of Kamyshivka;
- northwest of Sudzha, in the area of Pogrebky and Mala Loknya;
- south of Sudzha, in the area of Plekhovoye;
Luhansk region
In the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna area, Russian forces continue offensive actions, though there are no confirmed successes yet. Russian military bloggers claim their forces have advanced further south of Kupiansk, but ISW does not have visual confirmation of these claims.
Russian forces continue offensive operations:
- northeast of Kupiansk, in the area of Synkivka;
- north of Kupiansk, in the areas of Holubivka and Kondrashivka;
- south of Kupiansk, in the area of Kruhliaivka;
- southeast of Kupiansk, near Stepova Novoselivka and Vyshneve;
- west of Svatove, in the area of Pervomaiske;
- northwest of Kreminna, in the areas of Terny, Hrekivka, Nevske and Makiivka;
- west of Kreminna, in the area of Torske;
- south of Kreminna, near Hryhorivka;
- southwest of Kreminna, in the areas of Serebrianka and Serebrianske Forestry.
Donetsk region
In the area of Bilohorivka to the northeast of Siversk and Ivano-Dariivka and Vyiimka to the southeast of Siversk, Russian forces continue offensive operations, but there are no confirmed changes in the front line yet.
In the Chasiv Yar area, Russian forces also continue offensive operations, however, there have been no confirmed changes in the front line.
In the Khare and Daleke area, Russian forces continue offensive operations east of Kurakhove, but there have been no confirmed changes in the front line.
Russian forces also advanced southeast of Donetsk in the Vuhledar area. Geolocated footage shows they have moved west of Peremoha (southwest of Donetsk). In addition, Russian troops have recently taken positions north of Zolota Nyva and north and northwest of Prechystivka.
Over the past day, the enemy carried out one missile strike, 60 air strikes and over 3,5 thousand shellings of troop positions and settlements. According to various sources, various types of weapons were used, as well as over 550 kamikaze drone strikes.
