According to UATV: On June 6, Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, triggering fires, causing casualties, and damaging buildings. The strike hit the roof of a supermarket, leading to severe consequences. A fire also broke out in an apartment of a building located opposite the attack site.
According to local authorities, seven people were injured in the assault, including two men aged 67 and 49, as well as a 10-year-old boy. The boy suffered a hand injury and was hospitalized. Two people were killed in the morning attack on Zaporizhzhia. It is also reported that at least eight apartment buildings and non-residential structures were damaged.
Official Response and Aftermath
Zaporizhzhia Mayor Ivan Fedorov stated that rescue workers, police, and medical personnel are on the scene.
“There are already three wounded. The number of victims from the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia is increasing,” – Ivan Fedorov.He emphasized the gravity of the situation. The attack on Zaporizhzhia also targeted critical and industrial infrastructure, raising additional concerns among the population.
This assault is part of the ongoing military hostilities in eastern Ukraine, where violence continues to cause significant human and material losses. As a key industrial hub, Zaporizhzhia remains deeply worried about the future safety of its residents and the stability of the region. Local authorities are working to address the aftermath of the attack and provide assistance to those affected.
