Russians have caught fish worth 6 billion in the Sea of Azov: what will Ukraine do.
According to inkorr.com: The Russian occupiers have ruthlessly destroyed the fishing industry of the Sea of Azov since the beginning of the conflict. According to the State Fisheries Agency, the losses amounted to over 6 billion UAH due to illegal fishing of various species of fish and marine creatures.
The head of the State Fisheries Agency, Igor Klimenko, noted: 'We will track all violations of the ecological status of the Sea of Azov and seek punishment for the guilty together with international partners.'
The actions of the occupiers contradict Ukrainian legislation and indicate systematic depletion of natural resources. All materials regarding illegal fishing will be transferred to law enforcement agencies for consideration within the framework of criminal proceedings under Article 249 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to similar offenses.
Action plan of the Ukrainian authorities
The State Fisheries Agency reports that the Russian occupiers have caused serious damage to the fishing industry of the Sea of Azov due to illegal fishing of biological resources. The Ukrainian authorities plan to take measures to protect the marine ecosystem and restore fish stocks in this region.
The situation surrounding the fishing industry of the Sea of Azov requires urgent and balanced steps from the state. Restoring the marine ecosystem is extremely important not only for fishing but also for preserving biodiversity in the region. Through joint efforts with international partners, Ukraine hopes not only to protect its resources but also to hold accountable those responsible for their plundering.
