Zelensky on US-Russia Negotiations: They May Twist Their Nose.
According to ТСН: The intransigence of the Russian military-political leadership, which demonstrates a tough stance and 'twists its nose' during negotiations with the US regarding a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine, may have negative consequences for the Kremlin.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with journalists.
"For now, Russia is twisting its nose, but we have strong enough partners, some of them particularly so, and they can twist their nose if they want," he said, commenting on the position of the Russian side.
Zelensky noted that representatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump are negotiating with the Russians and 'discussing various options' for the peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine.
He also reminded that the Ukrainian side is systematically preparing for negotiations and is doing everything possible to advance the peace process, despite the informational pressure from Russia.
Separately, the Ukrainian leader emphasized the Kremlin's attempts to derail the peace negotiations by spreading fake news about an alleged drone attack on the presidential residence in Valdai.
As previously reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that Russia will revise its negotiating position in connection with the alleged attack on Putin's presidential residence in the Novgorod region.
At the same time, according to Trump's words, he announced significant progress in negotiations to end the war, estimating the completion of agreements at 95%. The American leader confirmed that he held comprehensive consultations with key allies in Europe and communicated with Putin.
This situation highlights the duration of the conflict and the different approaches to peaceful settlement. Russia's intransigence may escalate the situation, while active negotiations from the US indicate the possibility of reaching a compromise. But, as can be seen, the path to peace remains difficult and thorny.
