Strike on Zaporizhzhia

According to UATV: On June 27, a Russian military attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia left six people wounded, among them a 13-year-old girl. The assault involved drones and aerial bombs, causing extensive damage across the city. This latest incident adds to the growing toll on civilians in Ukraine's ongoing war.

The bombardment damaged 40 residential buildings across four districts of Zaporizhzhia and also struck a local school. One aerial bomb hit a residential building, while another detonated near the school premises. Additionally, a fuel station caught fire after being directly hit by a bomb.

Eyewitness Accounts

Vladimir, a gas station employee, described the event:

“We heard something coming. The manager called to say it was heading our way. We set up warning signs and ran out of the station. Literally five minutes later—it hit. And just like that, the station was gone.”

A local resident also shared their experience: “It went into the elevator shaft, went in and exploded there.”

The attack on Zaporizhzhia serves as another grim reminder of the escalating conflict, which continues to claim civilian casualties and destroy infrastructure. As schools and residential areas become targets, the humanitarian crisis deepens, threatening children's education and the safety of ordinary people.

This incident underscores the ongoing military operations in Ukraine, which are devastating civilian life. The constant shelling creates a humanitarian emergency and jeopardizes the education of children, as schools are increasingly hit. Such attacks risk further inflaming the conflict and eroding trust between the parties, making a peaceful resolution even more elusive.
