Russian assault in Donetsk failed due to swamp: enemy equipment sank.
According to inkorr.com: Russian forces attempted to attack a Ukrainian brigade in Donetsk, but their attempts ended in failure due to the swamp. Enemy equipment got stuck in the water, complicating the execution of airborne operations.
For the attack, the enemy engaged five armored vehicles, but three of them got stuck in the swamp. During their attempts to escape from the trap, they were shelled by the artillery of the Ukrainian brigade. Later, the equipment was destroyed by drone strikes and bombers, and the remaining armored vehicles were eliminated by other units. In the end, three pieces of equipment sank, while two others were destroyed along with Ukrainian soldiers.
“Even the infamous Himars did not refuse such a fat target, which was quickly and accurately aimed,” the unit noted.
Enemy losses confirmed: one MTLB, one motorcycle, four killed and two wounded soldiers.
Outcome
The attack by Russian troops on the Ukrainian brigade in Donetsk ended in failure due to the entrapment of armored vehicles in the swamp. During the battle, the enemy suffered significant losses, while Ukrainian forces successfully defended their positions. This situation is yet another example of how natural conditions can influence the course of military actions, highlighting the importance of adapting tactics to the terrain.
