Port Infrastructure in Odesa Region Targeted by Attack

According to UATV: On July 11, Russian forces launched a strike on port infrastructure in Ukraine's Odesa region. The assault killed two people and left two others wounded. A commercial vessel registered under the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was damaged, and a fire broke out onboard.

Local official Oleksiy Kuleba commented on the incident, stating: 'Russia has once again attacked the port infrastructure of the Odesa region and civilian shipping. Two drivers were killed. Two more people were injured. A civilian commercial vessel flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was damaged. A fire broke out on board, which was quickly extinguished.'

Systematic Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure

Kuleba also emphasized that Russian troops are systematically targeting residential areas, transportation networks, ports, and critical infrastructure.

'This is deliberate terrorism against civilians and yet another blatant violation of international law,' he added.

This attack underscores the ongoing conflict and the threat it poses to civilians in the region, raising serious concerns within the international community. The Odesa region has been a frequent target due to its strategic importance for grain exports and maritime trade.

The situation in the Odesa region and other parts of Ukraine remains tense due to continuous military operations. Attacks on civilian infrastructure not only damage the economy but also endanger the lives of peaceful residents. The international community continues to monitor developments closely and calls for adherence to international legal norms that protect civilians during armed conflicts.
