The heating season has started in Ukraine. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the first to be connected to the heat supply are social infrastructure facilities such as hospitals, schools, and kindergartens. Specific connection dates are set by communities based on weather conditions.
Shmyhal also noted that all nine power units of Ukrainian nuclear power plants are operational, providing for the main electricity needs. Ukraine is also receiving new equipment for electricity generation.
Banks lending to businesses under government energy programs have approved applications worth UAH 7.9 billion. For the population, loans amounting to over UAH 204 million have been approved. This was reported by Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister emphasized that everything possible is being done to provide the population with light and heat in winter, as well as the uninterrupted operation of enterprises.
Earlier, Shmyhal stated that residential buildings are ready for the heating season by more than 99%.
