Russia has abandoned its occupation of Ukraine: what Vance said about Kremlin's plans.
According to The Sun: US Vice President Jay D. Vance is convinced that Russia has given up its ambitions to control Ukraine after the war, which he considers a significant concession. He believes that President Trump will be able to negotiate a resolution to the conflict, especially after it became known that the US prevented Ukraine from launching long-range missiles at Russia.
'We believe we have already seen significant concessions from both sides just over the past few weeks,' Vance told NBC.
He explained that Russia has recognized that after the war they will not be able to establish a controlled regime in Kyiv.
Vance stated that Russia has shown flexibility in its demands for the first time during the prolonged three-and-a-half-year conflict and is discussing terms for ending the war.
The Vice President expressed confidence in the continuation of diplomacy and believes that this is the right approach to achieving a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He also dismissed the idea that Putin is manipulating Trump during the negotiations.
Vance emphasized that the vigorous diplomacy being conducted will ultimately lead to success or reveal any obstacles that need to be addressed in future negotiations.
Despite the US refraining from introducing new sanctions, they are applying economic pressure on Russia, for instance, by imposing additional tariffs on India to limit profits from Russian oil.
Additionally, the Pentagon's review mechanism has hindered Ukraine from attempting to strike Russian targets with long-range missiles, complicating their ability to use US Atacms and UK's Storm Shadows.
President Biden approved the use of Atacms by Ukraine in November, but requests were denied at least once, according to US officials. President Trump emphasized a two-week timeline to reach an agreement.
After the summit in Alaska between Trump and Putin, a significant Russian attack in Ukraine resulted in damage to an American factory in western Ukraine. President Zelensky described it as a deliberate attack.
Ukrainian military intelligence, GUR, reported that they destroyed three Russian servicemen known as 'Hellhounds of Bucha' in corresponding airstrikes in the Luhansk region.
After a prolonged war in Ukraine, high politics shows us the beginning of the end of the conflict. Russia's decision to abandon the idea of establishing a next regime in Kyiv is a step forward in peacefully resolving the situation. Also, Ukraine's ability to launch long-range missiles is openly blocked, demonstrating that diplomatic negotiations can indeed reveal the best ways to resolve the prolonged conflict.
