Odesa under daily attacks: how Russia has changed its tactics for port strikes.
According to ТСН: Since mid-December 2025, there hasn't been a single day in the Odesa region without an air raid alert. Russian attacks are aimed at affecting the region's logistics.
As noted by the spokesman of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk, the aggressor country has intensified strikes on energy and logistics. The number of shellings and drone launch points has increased, complicating the work of air defense.
Types of weapons and enemy tactics
During the shelling of Odesa, the Russian army uses a variety of weapons, including drones and ballistic missiles. Cluster munitions are used in rockets, significantly expanding the area of impact. This once again underscores the terrorist nature of the attacks.
“The enemy has complicated its tactics: launching ‘Shahed’ drones from various locations. This can be Crimea, Krasnodar Krai in Russia. Therefore, unfortunately, alarms are constantly sounding.”
Bratchuk also reported that in recent days there have been no casualties in Odesa and the region, but rescuers have to do a lot of work due to hits.
Methods of bypassing air defense
Furthermore, Russian troops use low altitudes to penetrate the city territory with drones – ‘Shaheds’ fly even between buildings, complicating the work for air defense. Due to low flight, radar systems are not always able to detect drones in time.
It is worth noting that Odesa has become a key target for Russian attacks, as the city is an important hub for the export of Ukrainian grain and a critically important economic route for the country. Russia aims to completely block Ukraine's maritime exports, which account for 90% of agricultural supplies.
Thus, the situation in the Odesa region remains tense. The constant threat of strikes and new enemy tactics complicate the protection of important infrastructure facilities, potentially impacting the economic stability of the region and the country as a whole. At the same time, Ukrainian forces are trying to adapt to new challenges and ensure the safety of local residents.
