Samsung Revealed Galaxy Z TriFold: the First Triple-Folding Smartphone.

According to Korrespondent.net: After numerous leaks and prototype demonstrations, Samsung has finally announced its first triple-folding smartphone Galaxy Z TriFold.

Features and Specifications

The main innovation is the dual titanium hinges, which allow the main display to fold inward, providing full protection when closed. This distinguishes the Z TriFold from Huawei's solutions, where the external screen is located on the front side. The Galaxy Z TriFold has a 6.5-inch secondary display located on the back, and both parts of the internal screen fold toward the center.

The main screen in unfolded state has a diagonal of 10 inches and a resolution of 2160 × 1584 pixels. It supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. On the right side of the screen, there is a hole for a 10 MP front camera, and the surface is protected by factory film.

The external 6.5-inch display also operates with a refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, has brightness up to 2600 nits, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection, and a separate 10 MP camera.

Power and Performance

The Galaxy Z TriFold runs on One UI 8 based on Android 16, offering extended multitasking capabilities: three full applications can work side by side in vertical mode. Being the first in Samsung, it has a separate Samsung DeX mode that activates from the quick settings panel, creating a desktop-like interface. Paired with a keyboard and mouse, the device can function as a portable workstation.

The body is made of Advanced Armor aluminum and is only 3.9 mm thick at its thinnest point. When folded, the smartphone measures 159.2×75×12.9 mm and weighs 309 g. The device is also equipped with IP48 protection against dust and moisture.

The model is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, similar to that in the Fold7, combined with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB.

The main camera unit is similar to that of the Fold7: a 200 MP main sensor ISOCELL HP2, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide module.

Power is provided by a three-cell 5600 mAh battery distributed between the sections of the body. It supports 45 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is available in a single color, Crafted Black. In South Korea, its price will be around $2450, with sales starting on Friday, December 12. Later, the device will appear in the markets of China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the USA.
