Ukraine's Security Service Strikes Russian Oil Station Supplying Moscow for Second Time in a Month.
Second Attack on the 'Vtorovo' Oil Pumping Station
According to Novyny.live: On June 27, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) carried out another strike on the 'Vtorovo' oil pumping station in Russia, a facility that delivers fuel to Moscow. This marks the second attack on the same site within the past month, following an initial strike on June 10.
Located in Russia's Vladimir region, the 'Vtorovo' station is part of the 'Transneft-Upper Volga' pipeline network. It plays a key role in moving diesel fuel to Moscow's ring pipeline and also supports exports of petroleum products to Baltic Sea ports. During the latest operation, explosions were reported in the station's technical buildings.
The SBU's 'Alpha' unit carried out the mission. This strike coincided with other military actions on the same day: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a missile attack using FP-5 'Flamingo' rockets on the 'Titan-Barrikady' plant in Volgograd. That facility, which manufactures components for artillery systems and missile technology, caught fire after being hit.
Broader Implications of the Strikes
The repeated assault on 'Vtorovo' signals an ongoing campaign by Ukrainian forces targeting Russian infrastructure that is critical for fuel supply.
These events highlight the escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly through deliberate strikes on vital enemy infrastructure. Attacks on strategically important assets can disrupt the resources needed for military operations. Given this situation, it is crucial to monitor further developments in the region and how Russian authorities respond to Ukraine's actions.
