Alexander Skopich, the director of audit work at Energoatom, was allegedly detained by the SBU for a bribe. According to journalist Yuri Nikolov, Skopich was caught near the company's office on Gogolivska Street while receiving 100,000 hryvnias. This bribe, according to EP's report, was demanded for resolving issues with fuel supplies.

Alexander Skopich was previously a member of the NAPC from 2016 to 2019. According to Nikolov, it was Skopich who organized the protocol to declare the head of NABU, Artem Sytnyk, a corrupt official.

A month ago, the SBU handed over data to NABU about a 500,000 dollar bribe involving the deputy minister of energy, Khailo. Since the suspect had a high status, the case was handled by NABU detectives. In Skopich’s case, the amount is smaller, so the case is being handled by the SBU.

Journalist Yuri Nikolov raises the question of whether SBU investigators will conduct searches at the direct supervisor of Skopich - Petro Kotin. He also suggests that this detention could affect personnel decisions in the energy sector and defense sphere.
