Celine Dion accused Trump of using her song at a campaign rally

Singer Celine Dion's team accused former US President Donald Trump of using the song My Heart Will Go On at his campaign rally without permission. The team made the corresponding statement on social network X.

This use is in no way authorized, and Celine Dion does not approve of this or any similar use. And, seriously, this song?

Trump's team has not yet responded to this accusation.

For reference, My Heart Will Go On is one of Celine Dion's most famous songs. It was the soundtrack to the 1997 film Titanic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

It should be noted that this is not the first Time performers and bands have complained about Trump using their songs at campaign rallies. For instance, Neil Young objected to Trump using his songs, and in 2020, the Rolling Stones threatened him with a lawsuit after the song You Can't Always Get What You Want was played at a political rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As noted by the BBC, US politicians do not always need direct permission from artists to use their work at such events. Their campaigns can purchase license packages from music rights organizations. However, artists have the right to remove their music from this list.

Recall that US presidential candidate Kamala Harris is ahead of her opponent Donald Trump in three key states, which often determine the election outcome.

By the way, current US leader Joe Biden doubts that the transfer of power in his country will be peaceful if Trump loses.
