According to UATV: On June 4, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha addressed a Russian strike on the city of Sumy that killed four civilians, among them a five-year-old girl. Dozens more were wounded in the assault. The minister stated that such actions underscore Moscow’s determination to prolong the war in Ukraine.
The attack hit a central street in Sumy, resulting in four fatalities, including a child, and injuring 33 people. Sybiha emphasized the gravity of the situation, declaring,
“Every bomb dropped on a Ukrainian city is yet another rejection by Putin of all peace efforts.”He called for immediate measures to protect civilians.
Urgent Call for More Air Defense Systems
The foreign minister also highlighted Ukraine’s critical need for additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles.
“Ukraine urgently requires more air defense systems and interceptor missiles,”Sybiha stressed, urging the international community to take decisive action.
This incident has sparked deep concern both within Ukraine and among international organizations, as ongoing Russian aggression threatens the safety of civilians. The loss of innocent lives, including children, reinforces the importance of global support for Ukraine during this difficult period.
The Sumy attack marks another escalation of violence in Ukraine, demanding swift measures to protect the population. The minister’s remarks highlight not only the need to bolster defensive capabilities but also to intensify international efforts to ensure regional security. The global community must respond to these challenges, as such incidents endanger not just Ukrainian civilians but stability across Europe.
