Call for Action at Black Sea Security Conference

According to UATV: Speaking at the 3rd Black Sea Security Conference held on March 23 in Chișinău, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called for increased pressure on Russia and the restoration of free navigation in the Black Sea. He stressed the need for stronger international coordination to ensure regional security and emphasized the urgency of actions aimed at reclaiming Crimea from occupation.

During the event, it was reported that Russia had illegally exported 2 million tons of stolen grain from Ukraine in 2025. This revelation sparked outrage among attendees, as it violates international law and threatens global food security. Sybiha underscored that the international community must not only halt Russia’s unlawful activities but also confiscate assets linked to its shadow fleet.

Regional Cooperation in the Black Sea Area

A key topic of discussion was the readiness of Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, and Turkey to play a more active role in securing the Black Sea. Closer collaboration among these nations could prove essential in countering Russian aggression in the region.

'Russia’s shadow fleet tankers must not just be stopped—they must be confiscated,' Andrii Sybiha stated.

As such, the conference served as a critical platform for shaping security strategies in the Black Sea and coordinating efforts among countries committed to regional stability.

This gathering highlighted the pressing need to address security challenges in the Black Sea, especially given Russia’s ongoing aggression and its impact on international trade routes. Cooperation among Black Sea littoral states is vital to counter the threats posed by Russia and could help stabilize the situation. Given Ukraine’s efforts and those of its partners, continued international support for these initiatives is essential to protect the rights and interests of nations affected by unjust actions.
