Exemptions from Mobilization in Ukraine: Which Employees Can Get a Deferral.
Military Call-Up in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine is currently conducting a call-up of reservists and conscripts to its Defense Forces. However, certain groups of citizens are eligible for a deferral from mobilization through official reservation. Military enlistment offices and social services in Ivano-Frankivsk have clarified who qualifies for this option.
Categories Eligible for Reservation
Under Ukrainian law, reservation status can be granted to:
- civil servants in categories 'A', 'B', and 'C'
- employees of enterprises deemed critical to national infrastructure
- other specified groups of citizens
This system helps preserve essential personnel in sectors vital to the country's wartime operations. The reservation process involves multiple steps: first, an employer must obtain critical enterprise status, then compile a list of eligible conscript employees, and finally submit that list for approval.
According to Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 76, the length of deferral varies depending on the category. The law also allows for temporary reservations lasting up to 45 calendar days. This provision addresses urgent staffing needs at enterprises of strategic economic importance.
Mobilization deferrals allow civil servants and critical infrastructure workers to continue performing their duties, which is especially crucial during wartime.
This reservation mechanism is a key tool for maintaining workforce capacity in sectors that ensure stability and state functionality during armed conflict. These measures not only support the economy but also sustain core public and private institutions that are essential for the country's survival in a crisis.
