Ecologists checked the raccoon in the Odessa zoo: what the examination revealed.
We examined this raccoon and found no evidence of cruelty. There were no external signs of disease or injury, and its behavior is natural. The fur is fine, it is only shaved in two places where blood was taken for tests.
Volunteers accidentally saw the raccoon in a petting zoo with a bald paw and supposedly almost hairless. An employee of the facility said that he is in depression. An activist observed him for several days and decided that the animal's condition was not improving, after which she published a video about the animal.
On August 2, a rally took place near the shopping center where the sick animal is located, and people demanded to give the raccoon back. However, their demands went unanswered.
The zoo stated that the published footage contains false information about the conditions in which the animal is kept. The management of the facility demands to remove the video and record a new one with a pre-agreed text. Otherwise, they threaten legal action.
Ecologists checked the health of the raccoon in one of the petting zoos in Odessa for signs of cruelty. It turned out that the animal is healthy, receives quality food, and is kept in satisfactory conditions. Raccoons usually live in a natural environment, but keeping them in a large city requires special conditions, which the zoo tries to provide. The director of the zoo assured that no cruelty towards the animal has been found, and the raccoon's condition is currently satisfactory.
