Disability Pension in Ukraine

According to Novyny.live: In Ukraine, individuals who have lost the ability to work due to illness, injury, or congenital health conditions are entitled to a disability pension. The amount of these payments depends on the disability group, insurance record, and other factors. For 2026, the minimum disability pension is set at no less than 2,595 hryvnias.

Minimum Payments for Persons with War-Related Disabilities

Starting in March 2026, significantly higher minimum payments will apply to individuals with disabilities caused by war. Specifically, those in disability Group III will receive 10,625 hryvnias, Group II will get 15,494 hryvnias, and Group I will be entitled to 18,885 hryvnias. These adjustments are designed to support people affected by military actions.

Additionally, military personnel may also qualify for a disability pension if their disability was established during service or within three months after discharge. This provides extra safeguards for those who risked their lives for the country.

The changes to disability pension provisions in Ukraine—especially for those harmed by war—reflect the state's growing focus on social needs during crises. Raising pension amounts is a key step in supporting vulnerable groups, potentially improving their financial situation significantly. This also sends an important signal to society about the need to uphold the rights and needs of people with disabilities, particularly in wartime conditions.
