Ukrainians are checked for money at the Polish border: how much you need to have with you.
There are checks on all Ukrainians at the Polish border. Employees at the crossing points may monitor financial capacity to ensure that a person has enough funds for their stay in Poland. Among other types of controls are passport and customs checks.
Minimum amounts for entry into Poland
Although checking financial status is not mandatory, border guards may conduct monitoring. If they find a lack of sufficient funds, there is a high probability that entry will be denied. According to information on the Migrant Info portal, Ukrainians are advised to have a certain amount of cash with them:
- 300 zlotys for a trip up to 4 days;
- 75 zlotys for each day of stay beyond 4 days.
It is also important to have a return ticket or 200 zlotys as compensation. The required amount of money can be in cash form or in bank accounts.
Cases when checks are not conducted
Some categories of foreigners may be exempted from proving financial capacity, such as those traveling on an invitation, entering for work, or under special programs. However, it is necessary to have documents confirming the purpose of the trip.
Also, it is worth remembering that some food products and currency valuables may cause refusal of entry into Poland.
Polish border services require Ukrainians to have enough funds for their stay in the country. In case of insufficient money, entry may be denied. Some categories of travelers are exempt from this requirement; however, it is necessary to have documents confirming the purpose of the trip.Read also
