Offline School and Maximum Protection: What Will Change in the New Academic Year.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine released a letter with instructions on organizing the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to the information from "Hvilya", the letter was published on the Ministry of Education's website.
The academic year will soon begin for both students and graduates. According to the Ministry of Education, it is proposed to hold the first lesson in memory of the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our state.
Teachers can use methodological materials developed by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory in preparation for the first lesson. General access to these materials is provided via the link.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reports the adoption of the government decision dated 13.08.2024 No. 926, which allows the creation of protected premises in educational institutions. Such premises can be equipped in basements, ground floors, and sometimes even on the first floors of schools if they are located in safe areas.
This is a temporary measure that does not cancel the obligations of school principals and local education authorities to create full-fledged protective structures in accordance with all legislative requirements.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with local authorities, is making efforts to ensure the possibility of face-to-face learning for as many children as possible in safe areas. As part of the "Offline School" initiative, the Ministry of Education has developed new rules for communal educational institutions during wartime.
The primary priority of the Ministry of Education and Science and local authorities is to ensure access to face-to-face education for as many children as possible in safe areas. To this end, the Ministry of Education has developed the Order and Conditions for obtaining secondary education in communal general secondary education institutions under martial law in Ukraine, which will be fully implemented by the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year and may be applied this year in regions where their implementation is possible.
The Ministry of Education emphasizes the need for an individual approach to each student to ensure their right to education in the best interests of the child.
It was also reminded that in modern conditions of constant threat to the education system, safety issues are key for managers at all levels when choosing the format of lessons.
It was reported that the curriculum for students in grades 5-9 in Ukraine has been changed.
