According to Espreso.tv: A devastating collision in Kyiv on June 5 claimed the lives of four individuals, including a 12-year-old boy. The tragedy unfolded in the Solomianskyi district around 5:00 PM. Among the deceased are two district police officers, a woman, and a boy named Hryhorii Hlushych, who had just completed the sixth grade.

The driver, Pavlo Pleshyvtsev, has been detained and remains under guard at a hospital. He faces charges for violating traffic safety regulations, resulting in four fatalities. The court ordered his pretrial detention for 60 days with no option for bail. Records show he had accumulated 10 traffic fines over the past year and a half.

Public Outcry and Broader Implications

According to the prosecutor's office, the driver failed to maintain proper attention and chose a dangerous speed, causing the vehicle to veer off, hit an underground pedestrian crossing, and strike bystanders. The suspect's lawyer noted that

“the car was moving as if the driver had no control over it at all.”

In addition to the fatalities, three other people were injured in the crash. The suspect is a father of five. This incident has sparked widespread public outrage, as such a high death toll from a single road accident is extremely rare.
