The Chancellor of Germany spoke out against supplying Ukraine with Taurus missiles
The Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz spoke out against Friedrich Merz's position, who supports supplying Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, reports 'Khvylia' citing n-tv.
'We are clearly against all hotheads who believe that we should do whatever it takes. We will not allow the deployment of long-range weapons supplied from Germany on Russian territory deep within the country - this will continue', Scholz stated.
The Chancellor also supports Ukraine and calls for not leaving it alone in defending its sovereignty and democracy.
It should be noted that Scholz had previously opposed supplying these missiles to Ukraine, while Merz was ready to hand them over if he became Chancellor, but with certain conditions.
Scholz also expressed his opinion on Vladimir Putin, urging him to stop shelling civilian facilities in Ukraine.
It is recalled that Volodymyr Zelensky intends to discuss the issue with EU and NATO leaders in Brussels.
