Sony unveiled its first gaming monitor for PlayStation: details of the novelty.
According to Korrespondent.net: Sony has officially presented its first gaming monitor under the PlayStation brand at the latest State of Play presentation.
Technical Specifications of the Monitor
The model will feature a 27-inch screen with an IPS matrix and a QHD resolution (2560x1440). Sales are planned for 2026.
The monitor supports variable refresh rates: when connected to a PC or Mac, it reaches 240 Hz, while for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles, it is limited to 120 Hz. The screen also supports HDR technology, although the details of the standard have not been disclosed yet.
Features and Ports
One of the key features of the device is the built-in retractable platform for wirelessly charging DualSense controllers, located at the bottom of the case, but the charging module will need to be purchased separately.
The port panel includes two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A, and one USB-C designed for connecting accessories using the PlayStation Link standard. This will ensure compatibility of the monitor with next-generation wireless headsets, headphones, and sound systems from Sony.
Sales Plans
Initially, sales will be available only in the USA and Japan. Information on the cost of the novelty will be known closer to the release, and there are currently no details regarding its entry into other markets.
