SpaceX successfully launched the Starship spacecraft.
According to Korrespondent.net: SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, successfully conducted the tenth test launch of the Super Heavy heavy-lift rocket, accompanied by the Starship spacecraft. This event took place on Wednesday, August 27.
The launch was delayed by two days due to technical problems with the ground systems at the launch site in Texas, but these difficulties were overcome, and the launch took place nonetheless.
Successful Starship mission
The Starship mission lasted over an hour. This time, the spacecraft successfully deployed its payload in orbit for the first time, specifically several Starlink satellite simulators. During the flight, a re-ignition of the Raptor engine was also conducted in space, which is an important technology for future flights.
After completing the mission, the Starship successfully executed a controlled landing in the Indian Ocean.

SpaceX emphasized that this launch is an important milestone on the path to full reusability of the Starship system, however, further work is needed on the technology for recovering the upper stage for reuse.
It is worth noting that on May 28 of this year, SpaceX already conducted the ninth test launch of Starship, which ended in failure: both stages of the Super Heavy rocket were lost before the completion of the mission. The previous two launches also ended in explosions at altitude and debris falling into the Caribbean Sea.
On March 14, 2024, SpaceX successfully conducted the first successful launch of Super Heavy with the Starship spacecraft.
SpaceX developed the reusable Starship spacecraft for flights into deep space, including to the Moon and Mars. The rocket system consists of two parts: the Super Heavy booster with 33 Raptor engines and the Starship spacecraft. The height of the rocket is 120 meters, making it taller than any other rocket ever built in the world. Super Heavy is also twice as powerful as NASA's Space Launch System (SLS), which is being developed for crewed flights to the Moon.
The launch of the new rocket is an important milestone on SpaceX's path towards ambitious space missions. Improving recovery and reusability technologies will help reduce the cost of flights and make space travel more accessible. Given the previous failures, the success of this launch is a significant confirmation of the company's progress in developing space technologies.
