Today, August 20, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (SSO AFU) published a video of the operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, during which the vehicle of Russian Lieutenant General Esedulla Abachev, deputy commander of the Northern group, was blown up. This was reported by Freedom referencing the SSO's Telegram channel.
The operation was conducted on August 17, 5 km from the city of Rylsk in the Kursk region.This general has been wanted in Ukraine since 2023. At that time, the prosecutor's office charged him with war crimes. At the beginning of the full-scale war, Abachev commanded the so-called '2nd Army Corps of the LPR' and is involved in the occupation of territory in Luhansk region.Recall that on August 15, the Ukrainian defense forces struck the seaport 'Olya' in the Astrakhan region of Russia. As a result, the vessel 'Port Olya-4', used by the aggressor country for transporting military products, was damaged.This news reports on the operation during which the Russian general was injured and provides context regarding his criminal activities in eastern Ukraine.'According to available information, as a result of the injuries, the enemy army general had his arm and leg amputated. He was immediately flown to Moscow,' the Special Operations Forces' message states.
