Bail of 95 million made for the figure of the Midas case: who paid it

According to ТСН: A bail amounting to 95 million hryvnias was made for Ihor Fursenko, a figure in the "Midas" case. This information was confirmed by Fursenko's lawyer, Petro Boyko.

It became known that the funds were paid by the private company "Varus Synergy", with a statutory capital of only 100 thousand hryvnias.

Who paid the bail and the conditions for release

Lawyer Petro Boyko did not reveal the identity of the person who paid the bail. However, journalists from "Schemes" established that this amount was paid by the company "Varus Synergy", registered with a statutory capital of 100 thousand hryvnias, which specializes in wholesale timber trade.

Ihor Fursenko held the position of executive director for security at "Energoatom" and, according to investigators, was responsible for keeping the accounts of the "back office", which was involved in the legalization of funds in a corruption scheme.

After the bail was paid, Fursenko must comply with a number of restrictions imposed by the court, including wearing an electronic bracelet and surrendering his foreign passport.

Million-dollar bails in the Midas case

The "Midas" case is connected to large-scale embezzlement of state funds in NAEC "Energoatom". During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a scheme whereby funds were withdrawn through inflated prices for the purchase of goods and services.

The bail for Fursenko is one of the largest among the figures in this high-profile case.

For other key individuals in the "Midas" case, the court set smaller bail amounts:

  • Oleksiy Chernyshov (former minister) — 51.6 million hryvnias (paid).

  • Dmytro Basov (former executive director for security) — 40 million hryvnias (not paid).

  • Lesya Ustyemenko (employee of the "back office") — 25 million hryvnias (paid).

  • Ludmila Zorina (employee of the "back office") — 12 million hryvnias (paid).

The largest bail was set for former energy minister’s advisor Ihor Mironyuk — 126 million hryvnias. He has not yet paid the bail and is in custody, while his appeal has been left unsatisfied.

According to NABU and SAP, an organized criminal group known as the "back office" controlled staffing and financial flows in "Energoatom", effectively managing the strategic enterprise through third parties.

Law enforcement officials have already announced suspicions against seven members of the criminal group known thanks to the "Mindycha tapes" under aliases "Carlson", "Professor", "Rocket", "Tenor", "Che Guevara", "Sugar Man", and "Reformer".

The imposition of bail in the "Midas" case indicates the activity of law enforcement in investigating corruption schemes in government structures. This is an important step in the fight against corruption that exposes large-scale abuses of budget funds and improves financial transparency in Ukraine. The situation leaves open questions regarding the further development of the case and possible consequences for other figures.
