The USA is trying to save Russia from collapse: what this means for Ukraine.

According to ТСН: The United States, by making agreements with Russia, may encounter the perception that this is their defeat, as well as a personal failure for Donald Trump. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, Serhii Kuzan.

He emphasized that the Kremlin has only one strategic option left — strengthening dependency on China.

“Putin is directly playing this card, behaving like a bride at a wedding: whoever offers more, that is who I will choose. For the USA, it is very important to detach Russia from China as much as possible, and American diplomats have spoken about this repeatedly,” Kuzan noted.

The expert also believes that Beijing is not striving to separate from Moscow, as it considers Russia a raw material appendage and geopolitical proxy.

“Formally, it is not a vassal relationship, but in fact we understand that the geography and resources of Russia determine its policy and dependence on China,” the expert explained.

In Kuzan's view, the actions of the USA at this moment are aimed not only at ensuring a just peace but also at saving Russia from an internal crisis.

“The United States is currently, in fact, trying to save Russia from self-destruction. For Putin, the main thing is to maintain his power. He understands that in this war, he has depleted the national welfare fund, destroyed Arctic projects, logistics in the Far East, and in the northern part of the Russian Federation,” he stressed.

According to the expert, there is only one important question for the Kremlin leader.

“In fact, Putin's logic is simple: offer me something such that I won't slam the door and go all-in,” Serhii Kuzan summed up.

Moreover, earlier President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Ukraine has reached the stage of active diplomacy, and there are now crucial moments that could change the fate of the country.

It was also reported that Donald Trump talked about a productive phone conversation with Putin before the meeting with President Zelensky.

These statements underscore the current complex situation on the international stage, where interstate relations and internal political factors are significant.
