The US enhances space reconnaissance to counter Russia and China.
The US increases its space capabilities
The United States aims to expand its space intelligence capabilities to combat competition from China and Russia. The US National Intelligence Office stated that cooperation with international partners poses a serious threat to countries attempting to restrain the US. The budget of the intelligence office has increased by 50% over the past six years, allowing the agency to enhance its technical capabilities and launch satellites from various countries. Furthermore, cooperation with the private sector allows the US to create a satellite network that is difficult to destroy even for Russia and China.
According to the US Deputy Secretary of Defense, China and Russia are developing military doctrines to use space as a battlefield. The recent deployment of potential space weaponry by Russia in the orbit of American satellites has caused serious concern at the Pentagon.
