The US commented on Israel's attack on Iran.

The Pentagon made its first statement after Israel's attack on Iran.

According to the Pentagon's press service, on Saturday, October 26, Israel launched strikes on Iran. Media reported explosions in Tehran and other Iranian cities. The IDF confirmed that it initiated measures in response to the Iranian attack that took place in October 2024.

The US stated that they support Israel's right to self-defense. Washington is determined not to let the tension be used or the conflict expand in the region.

According to Pentagon spokesman Pet Ryder, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin called Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to obtain new information on Israel's strikes on military targets in Iran.

Austin confirmed the United States' strong commitment to Israel's security and right to self-defense.

Additionally, the US Secretary of Defense announced strengthening the US armed forces' position to protect American personnel, Israel, and partners in the region against threats from Iran and the terrorist organizations supported by Iran.

It is noted that the US is firmly determined not to allow anyone to use the tension or expand the conflict in the region.
