U.S. Military Operation 'Epic Fury' Neutralizes 17 Iranian Vessels, Including a Submarine.
Operation 'Epic Fury'
According to UATV: In a major military action, the United States conducted Operation 'Epic Fury,' which concluded on March 4, 2023. The operation resulted in the destruction of 17 Iranian naval vessels, including a submarine. A force of 50,000 U.S. military personnel, supported by 200 fighter jets, two aircraft carriers, and bombers, carried out the mission. This action highlights the persistent tensions between the U.S. and Iran in the strategically vital waters of the Middle East.
During 'Epic Fury,' more than 2,000 munitions were deployed against nearly 2,000 targets. In response, Iran launched over 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000 drones. The operation's outcome left no Iranian naval vessels remaining in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Gulf of Oman.
Admiral Bradley Cooper commented on the operation's results, stating: 'We have significantly degraded Iran's air defense capabilities and destroyed hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones.'
Regional Impact of the Operation
Operation 'Epic Fury' signals a significant escalation of military activity in the Persian Gulf, where the U.S. aims to project its military strength. The destruction of these Iranian military assets could alter the geopolitical balance of power in the region between the U.S. and Iran. Iran's retaliatory missile and drone launches underscore the risk of further confrontation, which could have serious implications for regional security and international relations.
