A US spokesman stated that the possible involvement of North Korean soldiers in Russia's war against Ukraine is a dangerous development. He noted that in such a case, the US will consult with their allies and partners about the consequences of this step.

The spokesman also pointed out that such a move by North Korea could indicate Russia's growing desperation as it continues to suffer losses on the battlefield with Ukraine. He emphasized that this would be a sign of desperation, not strength, from the Kremlin.

South Korea also considers the deployment of North Korean troops in the war in Ukraine a serious threat to the security of the international community.
