The USA begins serial production of nuclear bombs
The United States is preparing to release new thermonuclear warheads. The first copy of the B61 in modification 13 will be produced in May 2025. This was reported by the acting head of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) under the U.S. Department of Energy, Teresa Robbins.
Robbins also noted that the modernization programs for the W88 Alteration 370 and W80-4 warheads are on schedule. The first serially produced W80-4 is planned for September 2027. The decision to produce B61-13 warheads was made in 2023, but has been criticized by many experts both in the USA and abroad.
The administration of President Donald Trump also intensified the intelligence campaign regarding Greenland, focusing on collecting data about the island’s independence movement and potential extraction of natural resources on its territory.
The decision to produce new thermonuclear bombs in the USA has caused mixed reactions worldwide and among experts. Among the critics were the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
