China's Crucial Role in Ending the Ukraine War: A Shift in U.S. Strategy.
U.S. Strategy for Ending the War in Ukraine
According to UATV: In an interview with the FREEДОМ TV channel, expert Ihor Harbaruk analyzed the evolving U.S. strategy for concluding the war in Ukraine. A member of the Economic Discussion Club, Harbaruk stressed that China's influence over Moscow is pivotal and that achieving peace will likely require comprehensive agreements between the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC). He identifies the PRC as a key player in this diplomatic process.
According to the analyst, China wields significant economic and political leverage over Russia. Harbaruk emphasized that any pressure the United States applies to the Russian Federation is, in his view, relatively limited in its potential impact.
“Even if the United States of America applies some pressure on the Russian Federation, it is no more than, I don't know, 12-15% of what they are capable of.” – Ihor Harbaruk
China's Potential to End the Conflict
Harbaruk also expressed strong confidence that Beijing has a greater chance of ending the war swiftly than Washington does.
“Given the role and influence that China has over the Russian Federation, I am more than sure that Beijing will be able to end this war faster than the United States of America.” – Ihor Harbaruk
Furthermore, Harbaruk noted that former U.S. President Donald Trump associates himself solely with victory and success, a stance that could influence Washington's overall strategic approach. He also praised the actions of the Ukrainian negotiation team, stating: “Everything the Ukrainian negotiation team does is absolutely brilliant.”
Consequently, the expert underscores the importance of international cooperation, specifically between the U.S. and China, for ending the war in Ukraine, highlighting the substantial influence China holds over Russia. As geopolitical tensions rise, the search for a stable peace in the region becomes increasingly urgent for all parties involved.
Given that China could serve as a vital mediator in peace talks, its role on the international stage is growing in relevance. Joint efforts by the U.S. and the PRC could significantly alter the dynamics of the conflict in Ukraine and reshape relations between major powers.
