It became known who the French authorities are looking for along with Durov.
The French law enforcement officers issued an arrest warrant for Nikolai Durov, the brother of Telegram's CEO Pavel Durov. He is a co-founder of this messenger. The warrant was caused by Telegram's refusal to cooperate with the French police investigators in a case of sexual violence against children. The investigation started earlier than was known. The warrant was issued on March 25 after no response was received to the court's request for user identification.
Warrants were issued on charges of complicity in the storage, distribution, offering, or provision of pornographic images of minors as part of an organized group.
Pavel Durov's children also became the subject of a legal process. A woman, who claims to be the mother of three of his children, filed a lawsuit against him. It is known that the CEO of Telegram became a sperm donor for more than a hundred couples in 12 countries.
Only one of the businessman's companions has been released so far, while Pavel Durov himself is under custody. He was detained at Le Bourget airport in Paris. During the detention, he was declared internationally wanted. He is accused of refusing to cooperate on cyber and financial crimes in Telegram. The UAE and France had previously hacked Durov's phone in 2017.
It should be noted that the President of France Emmanuel Macron met with Pavel Durov and offered him to move the Telegram headquarters to Paris.
