It has become known when Ukraine will create its own cruise and ballistic missiles.
Ukraine is actively developing its own missile production and plans to obtain the first samples of cruise and ballistic missiles by mid-2025. This was stated by the director of SE "Spetstechnoexport" Oleksiy Petrov.
Petrov stated that the private sector was involved in the missile industry, which was previously monopolized by the state, and this was an important step in the development of arms production. "The development of own production covers a wide range of armaments," he said.
"The development of own production covers a wide range of armaments," Petrov noted.
In particular, Ukrainian enterprises have already established the production of NATO-standard 155-mm shells and are working on restoring the production of 152-mm and 122-mm caliber ammunition, which are needed on the front line.
A program for the production of drones is also being developed, which have already been successful in countering more than 200 military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, including distances over 1000 km from Ukraine's border, according to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
On an international level, Ukraine is actively attracting partners for the development of the defense industry, and at a meeting of G7 defense ministers in Naples, Umerov called for investments in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
Details about Ukraine's large-scale missile program will be released by the end of the current year or at the beginning of 2025.
