Trump and Starmer discussed negotiations with Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a meeting in which they discussed the upcoming negotiations with Ukraine. According to the official information from the British government, Starmer expressed hope for a positive outcome of the negotiations and the restoration of American military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
The leaders of the two countries also discussed an economic deal and expressed Kyiv's desire to achieve 'lasting peace'.
According to media reports, the UK is actively consulting Ukraine on its negotiation strategy with the U.S. The Prime Minister's advisor, Jonathan Powell, visited Kyiv to prepare President Volodymyr Zelensky for the meeting with the American delegation.
The Ukrainian-American negotiations will take place after the conflict between Zelensky and Trump, which halted military aid from the U.S. Ukraine will be represented by the Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavlo Palisa.
President Zelensky also traveled to Saudi Arabia for a separate meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace and Chief of Defence Staff Tony Radakin will visit France on Tuesday for a separate meeting regarding Ukraine.
