Artificial Intelligence Against Guided Bombs: Results of NATO Hackathon Involving Ukraine.

The 15th NATO Innovation Challenge hackathon dedicated to combating aerial bombs took place in Poland.

The event was organized by the NATO Innovation Hub and the NATO-Ukraine Joint Center JATEC.

This year, Ukrainian innovators and scientists participated in the hackathon for the first time. Previously, only representatives from NATO member states could take part in the NATO Innovation Challenge.

A total of 40 teams participated in the hackathon, and 13 of them reached the finals. Participants presented solutions for combating aerial bombs, including AI intercept drones, drone swarms, electronic warfare technologies, and radars with coordinate alteration technologies.

The winner was the French company Alta Ares with the development 'Embedded Artificial Intelligence for Recognition, Detection, and Identification.'

The second place was taken by Tytan Technologies GmbH from Germany, and third place went to the French team ATREYD.

The Ukrainian team also received a separate prize for their EW project.

Expert NATO institutions will be involved in the further development of the solutions, which will analyze the proposed technologies and test them in combat conditions.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to contract with companies that can prove the effectiveness of their technologies in combating aerial bombs.
