Ukrainian and Belarusian Recruits for Russia in Poland

According to Novyny.live: Polish authorities have detained nine Ukrainian nationals and two Belarusians suspected of being recruited by Russia to stage protest rallies. All those arrested are set to be deported from the country. According to Tomasz Siemoniak, officers from the Internal Security Agency, working alongside the border guard, carried out the operation that led to the apprehension of these individuals.

The detainees were involved in selecting and providing material support to participants for these actions, targeting Ukrainian refugees living in Poland. Siemoniak stated,

“These actions are classified as an attempt to carry out an influence operation on Ukrainian migrants in Poland.”
Additionally, a 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen was arrested in Poland for making threats against Polish leader Karol Nawrocki.

The concept and funding for the protests involving the detained individuals originated from Russia. This situation raises concerns about the influence of external forces on Ukrainian migrants in Poland and their potential involvement in organizing protest activities.

Concerns Over Foreign Agent Activities

The arrests of Ukrainians and Belarusians in Poland highlight growing worries about foreign agents trying to sway Ukrainian migrants. This underscores the need for vigilance and oversight regarding possible manipulation attempts by third-party nations amid the war in Ukraine. The Polish authorities’ response demonstrates their readiness to counter such threats and safeguard the security of their territory and citizens.
