The Armed Forces of Ukraine have created a new grouping: who will lead the defense of Kharkiv region.
According to inkorr.com: Changes have taken place in the structure of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, resulting in the creation of a new Joint Forces grouping. It will be led by Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, who previously headed the 'Khortytsia' and 'Dnipro' operational command. This grouping will operate in the Kharkiv region and adjacent territories, returning to the area that Drapaty commanded during the Russian offensive in 2024.
«This complex and tense sector, which occupies one of the key places in the enemy's plans, has been entrusted for the second time to General Drapaty. Recall that in 2024 he already headed the Joint Task Force 'Kharkiv' during the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region and the threat to Vovchansk», – it is stated in the announcement.
Continuation of reform in the Armed Forces
The operational-strategic grouping of troops 'Dnipro' has completed its existence as part of the reform into a corps structure. All newly created corps are already successfully carrying out their tasks within their respective groupings.
Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov noted that the implementation of changes required significant efforts and careful preparation. All ten new corps management units were ready simultaneously, which required the involvement of the best servicemen and special training with the participation of instructors from partner countries.
These changes are an important step in the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the corps structure reform aims to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of military formations. Under General Drapaty's leadership, the new Joint Forces grouping will attempt to address important tasks in one of the most challenging sectors of the front, taking into account the experience gained in previous years.
